A duke is a member of the nobility, historically of highest rank below the monarch, and historically controlling a duchy or a dukedom. The title comes from the Latin Dux Bellorum, which had the sense of "military commander" and referred as a War Leader. Dukes were the rulers of the provinces and the superiors of the counts in the cities and later, in the feudal monarchies, the highest-ranking peers of the king.

A Seneschal takes care of the estates and domestic administration. Master Bobby supervises the household of Black Eagle Castle and events in the great hall of Lord, Duke while he is away attending his other holdings.

A Marshal is the officer in charge of a household's horses, carts, wagons, and containers. Lady Katrina of Black Eagle Castle’s staff includes farriers, grooms, carters, smiths and clerks. Lady Katrina of Black Eagle Castle also oversees the transporting of goods.

As the Baliff in charge of allotting jobs to the commoners, Master Joseph is also responsible for Black Eagle Castle’s building repairs, and repairs of tools used by the commoners.

Master Bruce is Black Eagle Castle’s Blacksmith. Master Bruce forges and sharpens the tools and weapons, as well as, beats out the dents in the Knights armor. He also makes the hinges for the doors, and window grills.

Black Eagle Castle’s Reeve supervises the work on Lord, Duke Ruben’s property. Master Mike checkes that everyone begins and stops work on time, and insures nothing is stolen. Master Mike is also the senior officer of the borough.
